DIOR X TESSI

On Saturday, I had the pleasure of going down to Birmingham for a Christmas masterclass at DIOR with the makeup artist and blogger Tessi Artistry. I had an amazing day meeting her and watching her do her thing on her beautiful model.
I was welcomed by the staff at DIOR and they made sure I felt at home and relaxed. As a blogger, this was my first proper event/masterclass that I have ever been too, so I was extremely nervous as I was there on my own, but I soon started to relax.
Tessi created a full makeup look on her model using the new DIOR Christmas range and I’m not just saying this but all the products she used looked amazing on the model’s skin. Having never used any DIOR makeup products before, I was very intrigued and needed to know more, so after Tessi had finished the look she then took us to the makeup where we could try it on ourselves and get matched by the experts. It was an amazing day and you also got given a goody bag with lots of samplers and miniatures of some DIOR products, one thing that I did purchase myself was the backstage foundation as it looked too good to leave behind.

DIOR BACKSTAGE FACE AND BODY FOUNDATION – when I watched Tessi use this foundation, I was amazed by how natural and flawless it looked on the skin. The product is a medium coverage however is easily buildable to create a higher coverage base. The foundation itself is enriched with beauty-enhancing pigments, it is waterproof and can resist extreme conditions such as workout sessions and a humid environment. The foundation comes in 40 shades and retails at £29.00

DIOR SAUVAGE – Sauvage is one of DIOR’S top selling men’s aftershaves as well as being a personal favourite of my own, it makes a perfect present for dads, brothers and boyfriends and the scent stays put all day. The aftershave comes in 60ml and 100ml and retail from £64.00 – £87.00
DIOR J’ADORE – I have never tried J’adore but again it is one of DIOR’S top selling women’s perfumes. Like Sauvage, J’adore would make a lovely present for somebody. The perfume comes in 30ml, 50ml and 100ml and retail from £54.00 – £110.00
DIOR MISS DIOR – Another one that I haven’t tried but I am so excited for! This perfume is handcrafted and woven with rosewood from French Guiana and pink pepper from Reunion Island for heightened character and is said to leave you lovestruck. The perfume comes in 30ml, 50ml, 100ml and 150ml and retail from £54.00 – £138.00
DIOR CAPTURE YOUTH AGE-DELAY ADVANCED CREME – A face cream infused with Iris Florentina helping to strengthen the skin and fight against the appearance of signs of ageing before they appear. When using this product your skin is said to appear toned, smoothed and reinvigorated. This product is a 50ml tub and retails at £75.00
DIOR CAPTURE TOTALE Multi-Perfection Crème Universal Texture – this crème is said to tone the skin from its deepest layers to its surface. Also, all signs of ageing are instantly corrected with every application. The crème is a luxury product which delivers comfort for all women. A little on the pricey side but an amazing product, the crème comes in one size – 60ml which retails at £130.00
DIORSKIN FOREVER – I haven’t tried the forever skin foundation, but I am excited to see how it will look and feel on my skin. The foundation itself is available in 28 different shades and gives a luminous matte finish. The foundation retails at £35.00
DIOR ROUGE DIOR – this lipstick is so sexy! It makes women feel so good, the shade 999 which I received is DIOR’S classic bold signature red lip and I can’t wait to create some Christmassy looks. The lipstick retails at £29.50 and is a statement piece for any makeup collection
DIOR LIP MAXIMIZER – giving an instant-volume effect, this gloss gives fuller and plumper lips. You can use the gloss on its own, as a primer or as a finishing touch retailing at £26.00

SNI HYDRATING AND NOURISHING HAIR OIL – this hair oil is natural, organic and is not a coating oil like many other hair oils on the market. It is super absorbent therefore had the ability to travel 3 layers deep of the hair shaft. The oil itself is great for slowing down the loss of hair as well as several other factors and comes in 2 sizes, you can get the full 100ml bottle or they do a travel size 30ml bottle. These retail at £28.50 & £17.50

It’s that simple

Simple skincare is one of the most affordable skin brands out there, it is a British brand and was designed for those with sensitive skin. I have been using Simple for a few weeks in my night time skin routine and I’ve got to say, I am a fan, the products are so affordable, yet they feel so expensive and luxury on the skin. I would recommend Simple for those of you who are students or those who can’t really afford a higher end brand.

So, I have been using the Simple Kind to Skin Eye Make-Up Remover, Simple Kind to Skin Micellar Cleansing Water, Simple Kind to Skin Moisturising Face Wash and the Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser.

Eye Make-up Remover – pretty much self-explanatory, I like to soak 2 cotton wool pads in the remover then press the pads onto my eyes and brows for about 10 seconds then wipe away.

Micellar Cleansing Water – again I soak about 3 cotton wool pads in the product then wipe away any face and neck makeup.

Moisturising Face Wash – I like to fill a bowl with warm water, and soak my sponge I then apply a little bit of the product to my hand and add a little water to lather the product in my hands before massaging into my neck and face, I then get my sponge and squeeze so all of the excess water is drained and take the face wash of my face then blot dry with tissue or pat dry with a towel.

Hydrating Light Moisturiser – once my face has been dried, I then use a small amount of the moisturiser and again massage into my neck and face and let the product absorb into my skin, you can use as much as you want however I don’t like my face to feel greasy hence why I only use a small amount.

I am yet to try the Simple eye creams, and face masks but If any of you have tried them please let me know what you think, I love reading others skin care routines.

Current Beauty Wish List

I’m always finding myself looking on the cult beauty and beauty bay website. So today I thought I would share with you my current beauty wish list! Most of these products that I am dying to try and REALLY REALLY want are higher end, so if anybody has any drugstore alternatives let me know in the comments so I can try them out!!!

1. VIOLET VOSS MATTE ABOUT YOU PALETTE – This palette looks unreal! I am already imagining the looks I can create from the selection of colours! You’ve got everything from a light transition colour, to gorgeous oranges, reds, purples and a black. It is just amazingggggg

2. UNICORN COSMETICS MINK LASHES IN AQUARELLE – Who doesn’t love lashes? I love these lashes as they look so natural and wispy, I love the fact that they are little clusters of lashes rather than just multiple lashes across the band and I just think they are so beautiful

3. YES TO COCONUT MICELLAR WATER – I love using micellar water to take off my makeup before I wash my face however some can be very irritating on my skin. This product claims to be very hydrating and I can just imagine how good this is for your skin especially if you really suffer from dry skin

4. SIGMA COMPLETE BRUSH KIT – One word UNREAL, this is the kit of dreams. I use the zoeva bushes now, however I need this kit in my life and I am going to save up until I can afford this baby

5. RCMA NO COLOUR POWDER – I feel like everybody has this powder apart from me! It isn’t the most expensive powder in the world, but I want to do a haul and that is my reasoning for not buying it yet as I know that if I buy it, I will use it and then it will be no good for a haul

6. TOO FACED BULLETPROOF BROWS – Now this looks so good, I assume it comes with the brush as it shows the brush on the picture but omg I can’t even begin to tell you how much I want this brow product. It reminds me of a bit of a pomade but also a powder as well if that makes sense. It claims to last 24 hours and is smudge and waterproof so were winning all round

7. ICONIC LONDON ILLUMINATOR – I am very late on the bandwagon with this one. I’ve been wanting to try the illuminator drops for some time now as everybody raves about them, so they must be good, I have the Barry M liquid highlighting drops and I personally don’t think they’re the best, so I don’t really use them, but these might be different I don’t know

8. ICONIC LONDON PIGMENT FOUNDATION STICK – Another product that I am only just wanting is the pigment stick that you see all over celebrities Instagram’s and twitters, I think if they are saying that the product is so good it must be so its worth a try

9. ICONIC LONDON EYEBROW CUSHION – I have recently seen this product on a few peoples YouTube channels and it does look like a good brow product and I just feel like you’re always going to wonder until you try

10. MAKEUP REVOLUTION CONCEAL AND DEFINE CONCEALER – Everybody is raving about how good this concealer is, every time I have gone to buy it, it is out of stock and this upsets me! If it is anything like the tarte shape tape concealer then its bound to be amazing isn’t it!

You can but all these products from either beauty bay or cult beauty and you can buy the makeup revolution concealer at Superdrug – don’t forget to let me know in the comments if you have any drugstore alternatives to the higher end products and don’t forget to follow my blog and also folly my social media 😊

See you soon

My once a week Lux Skincare

Hey everybody!!!!!

Today I thought I would go through my luxury skincare – I do this routine once a week usually on a Thursday night and then I just do my normal skincare on other days. So without further ado…lets get on with it….

  1. So first off, I like to start by taking off my makeup and washing my face with the Estee Lauder Perfectly Clean Triple Action Cleanser and Toner and pat my face dry with a towel. I have been using this facial cleanser for absolutely ages now and it is my all-time faveeee.
  2. I then use the GLAMGLOW GRAVITYMUD FIRMING TREATMENT and I tend to only apply this to my nose, t-zone and chin area. This mask smells unreal and it also drags up all the dirt and out of your pores, it is also a peel off mask and turns an amazing chrome colour once dried on the face. I leave this on for around 10 minutes then peel off and jump in the shower.
(Whilst I’m in the shower, I turn on my wax heater and let the wax heat up if I am waxing my brows.)
  3. Once I’m finished in the shower, I like to apply my Pixi Glow Tonic, Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Concentrate and the Origins Drink-Up Intensive Overnight Mask. I then apply my brow tint and I leave it on for 10 minutes to the colour is more intensified. I take my tint off my brows using cotton wool rounds and Luke warm water and I then go on and wax if they need doing.
  4. My face is now finished, and I am ready for bed…but…before I get into bed I will get my nails, so they are all pretty and ready for the weekend! I either use the Gellux or Shellac gel it just depends on what colour I want my nails that weekend image1and what else I have planned during the week.

So that is all for today! I hope you enjoyed reading about my skincare, let me know in the comments what you like to use on your skin because I am always up for trying new things! Don’t forget to follow my blog  and follow me on Instagram (aimeegibsonx)

See you soon

My Evening Pamper Routine

Happy New Year you lovely lot! I hope you celebrated in style and have had a great start to the new year.

In todays post, I will be going through my pamper routine, explaining the products I use and the order I use them. I love pamper nights, I have at least 1 x weekly and I feel they really cheer me up if I am ever feeling down.

I use a variety of products when enjoying a pamper night. However on this particular evening, used:

  • Clarins Cleansing Milk
  • Clinique Liquid Facial Soap
  • Spa Sanctuary Breathe, Relax & #LetGo gift set which includes (inflatable bath pillow, headband, bubble bath, exfoliating shower gel, shower gel and 3 gorgeous scented votives).
  • Montague Jeunesse Green Tea Peel Mask
  • Lush Bath Bomb
  • Clinique Clarifying Lotion
  • Clinique All about Eyes eye cream
  • Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel

I would usually use the Origins Clear Improvements mask, however I had gone into my local supermarket and happened to look at what masks they had to offer. I do Like the Montague Jeunesse masks and there a few to choose from so I stocked up. I am also not too sure what the bath bomb used was, I think it was Sakura.

To start off any pamper evening, I put on the London Grammar – If You Wait Album. I absolutely love this album and it is my FAVE at the minute, especially during pamper evenings as their music is very relaxing. I then ran my bathwater and added the Spa Sanctuary bubble bath, once I had done this, I wandered into my room to  get my onesie and fluffy bedtime socks before heading back to the bathroom and dropping in my bath bomb.

It was at that point I then lit my 3 votives , blew up my inflatable pillow, put on my headband and applied my mask. By the time this was done, my bath was ready. So off I turned the lights and got into the bath where I relaxed for around an hour. Obviously I took my mask off after 15 – 20 minutes of it being on. After I had had a little relaxation time, I exfoliated my skin with the Spa Sanctuary Exfoliating Gel.

I then got out of my bath and washed my face using the Clinique Liquid facial soap which I absolutely adore! Dried my face and body, slipped into my onesie, put on my fluffy bedtime socks and went to my bedroom where I applied my Clinique clarifying Lotion, All about eyes eye cream and my dramatically different moisturizing gel.

I then jumped into my bed and put on my favourite film – Confessions of a Shopaholic.

So that is it for today guys! and that Is my pamper routine. I hope you found this interesting and enjoyed reading through my steps to my pamper night! I shall see you lovely lot soon ❤

Christmas Makeup

Hey guys!

So with Christmas approaching very soon, I decided it was time for me to show you my “Christmas Makeup Look” and for me to tell you what products I use on my face for special occasions like Christmas.

Personally, nothing shouts out Christmas or the festive season as much as the word glitter does. I like my makeup on Christmas day to be so glittery and bold. Many of you may think well why do you wear so much makeup on Christmas? well i don’t go out on Christmas day, I stay in with all of my family but I just love the festive feeling I get when I have golden glitter eyes and a bold red lip.

The pictures make my makeup look slightly on the orange side as I was taking the picture using artificial lighting instead of natural.

Calming Bath Salts

Hey Everyone!

So seeing as most of you seemed to like my last blog post, I though it was about time I posted a new one for you all to read!

I have never really been one for bath salts, I love bath bombs and bath milk, however I have ever really tried salts. I was given the “KATS KALMA Salty Bundle” which I think looked super cute and I really couldn’t wait to test them out! The bundle contains an uplifting soak and also a balancing soak, the uplifting soak is a minty kind of fresh scent which I am choosing to use when I am feeling down and need a little pick me up (hence the name) and the balancing soak is more of a lavender kind of scent which I will be using this when I am feeling a little aggravated.

IMG_0076 IMG_0077

The packaging of these products are a really clever idea. The salts come in individual bottles with a cork as a lid and also a straw bow. I like the packing as they are a little different to other bath products that are out there and also if I were to be out shopping, they would definitely catch my eye!

I believe that these salts were a little on the pricey side so I am choosing to use them on my very bad days so that they last as long as possible, however in saying this, I will probably order some more when I am coming to an unfortunate end. I will leave a link to the KATS KALMA website so that you can have a browse of all of the lovely products that are available.

I hope you enjoy this post as much as the last one however I couldn’t really give a proper review as I have only used them once.

Love Always – Aimee XOX
